You don’t have to figure this out alone — even if there’s no one local who gets it.

If you’ve been diagnosed with POTS or another form of dysautonomia, or your doctor suspects it, you’ve probably already heard some version of “exercise is medicine.”

What you likely haven’t gotten is a clear answer to the next question: where do I actually start?

You’re not stuck. You’re just missing the right support.

Maybe your cardiologist or POTS specialist recommended the ADaPT protocol. Maybe you found it yourself after weeks of research at 2am.

Either way, if you’re in California without a provider trained in autonomic-informed exercise progression, you’re stuck holding a great protocol with no one to help you safely apply it to your body, your symptoms, and your life.

That’s what this session is for.

What This Is

A one-hour virtual coaching call with a physical therapist who specializes in dysautonomia, hypermobility, and complex multi-system conditions — built specifically to help you get oriented and moving in the right direction with exercise and lifestyle management.

This is not a diagnostic evaluation, and it’s not a substitute for your medical team. Think of it as the missing piece between “here’s a protocol” and “here’s how that protocol applies to you.”

Who this is for

  • You have a diagnosed or suspected POTS or dysautonomia condition
  • A provider has recommended the ADaPT protocol, or you’re considering it
  • You don’t have access to a local PT who understands autonomic-informed exercise progression
  • You want a clear, personalized starting point — not a generic pacing guideline
  • You’re open to ongoing support but want to start with one session to see if it’s a good fit

What we’ll cover

  • Where you currently are: symptom patterns, current activity tolerance, and what’s been tried
  • How to interpret and apply the ADaPT protocol to your specific presentation
  • Heart rate strategy and pacing that accounts for your physiology, not just a generic formula
  • Lifestyle and symptom management factors that affect how your body responds to exercise
  • A clear plan for your next steps — whether that’s starting the protocol, modifying it, or addressing something else first

What’s included

  • One hour, one-on-one virtual coaching call
  • Written follow-up notes and resources after the session, so you can be fully present during the call instead of scrambling to take notes
  • Clear next steps, with the option to continue with ongoing support through the protocol if you’d like it

Investment

$180 for a one-hour virtual coaching session, including written follow-up notes and resources.

This can be a single session to get you started, or the first step in ongoing support as you work through the ADaPT protocol. That’s entirely up to you.

Common questions
What is the ADaPT protocol, and do I need to have started it already?

ADaPT is a graded exercise protocol for POTS and dysautonomia that rebuilds cardiovascular capacity in stages, starting in recumbent positions and progressing upright as your autonomic system adapts. You don’t need to have started it. Most people book because they’ve been handed the protocol — by a cardiologist, a POTS specialist, or their own research — and don’t know how to apply it to their body. We’ll start wherever you are.

Do I need a referral or a formal diagnosis to book?

No referral is needed. Many patients book while still in the diagnostic process — if your doctor suspects dysautonomia or has recommended autonomic reconditioning, this session can help you get started safely.

Do I have to be local to North County San Diego?

No. This session is fully virtual and available to patients anywhere in California. All you need is a reliable internet connection.

Is this the same as a physical therapy evaluation?

No. This is a coaching session, not a formal PT evaluation or treatment. It’s designed for patients who already have a diagnosis and a protocol recommendation but need expert guidance applying it to their individual situation. It does not replace your medical team.

Can I book ongoing sessions after the first one?

Yes. The initial session is designed to stand alone, but many patients choose to continue with follow-up sessions as they work through the protocol. Ongoing support options are discussed at the end of your first call.
